Ok...changed my mind. I thought I wouldn't be making this livejournal friends only, but that was before Facebook decided to be stupid and frankly, a little weird and creepy. Facebook has this new thing called Beacon where they can post on the news feed if you've bought something from certain websites, posted something on a blog, saved something to a wishlist, etc on websites that participate. Normally I don't really care because I opted out of that thing after I accidently broadcast what shoes I bought off of zappos, but I've been reading articles about how Facebook still gets information even when you've decided to opt out of it and aren't even logged in. That's just plain creepy. So just in case, I've decided to make this friends only.
And that means...I need people on my friends list! Hey Sam! So far I have a total of 1, mostly because I haven't gotten around to adding anyone. I know my entries are absolutely riveting when they pop up every once in a while, but I don't know if Sam wants those dedicated to only her...haha. I might post something in an adding community, tonight if not tomorrow.
And just to get this out...I've been seeing all of these "Don't Support the Golden Compass!" things everywhere. Apparently the books the movie is based on are written by an atheist and end with children killing God, but come on now...grow up and get over it. There are movies that deal with much worse stuff than that, and the man's books were a matter of free speech. He wrote about what he wanted to write about, and if someone chose to make a movie about it, then they must have been good enough for film producers to see money-making potential. I know that those books offend people and their personal beliefs but seriously...be mature about it. If you don't like it, make a personal choice not to go see it. Don't try to heckle other people into your beliefs.
